Fugro, a world-leading Geo-data specialist, operates globally to explore, develop, and transport the world's natural resources. While they excel in creating a safe and liveable world offline, they sought Spinbox's expertise to enhance their online presence and provide a secure, informative experience for their customers.

Despite having a Sitefinity website, Fugro struggled to leverage the platform’s full potential due to a substandard implementation. This limited the ambitions of their business and marketing teams.

Fugro required a CMS with multilingual support and the flexibility for content editors worldwide to easily manage and update content and translations. Additionally, they needed to consolidate over 50 companies under the single Fugro brand and website.

The website needed to offer clear and detailed information on Fugro's services and solutions, facilitate inquiries for the global office, and provide contact details for local offices across the 61 countries where Fugro operates.

Analyse and Strategy

The immediate priority was conducting a digital health check on the existing site, reviewing SEO, technical implementations, and functional improvement areas. Why was the site running so slowly? This analysis provided both Fugro and Spinbox with insights into the website’s current suitability for multilingual support and highlighted necessary enhancements to achieve Fugro’s goal of effective global communication.

After several rounds of code and structural fixes, the website was restored to a reliable and secure foundation. Website speed and code quality improved, resulting in immediate SEO benefits.

Working collaboratively with the Fugro digital team, Spinbox designed and implemented front-end usability improvements to ensure a seamless user journey between languages. Back-end changes were made to enable content editors to easily create and manage content for multiple languages.

Over the years, the site structure, content flows, and design have been continuously upgraded. New digital tools for online magazines, timeline functionality, and rapid content creation modules have allowed this enterprise website to grow without limits.

Additionally, integrations with Dynamics 365 and Azure have expanded the website’s capabilities, enhancing lead generation and improving site speed across the globe.

The Fugro website now offers translated content in nine different languages, effectively communicating their offerings to a global audience. Analytics tracking shows that over 25,000 translated pages are viewed monthly, many of which convert into inquiry leads for the Fugro sales team.

With CRM integration and a new navigation structure, bounce rates have dropped and lead generation has risen, directly connecting potential clients with the right people inside the business.
