King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) engaged Spinbox to develop a new website for the International Programs Office (IPO). The objective was to create a modern, user-friendly platform using the advanced Sitefinity Content Management System (CMS) to manage and deliver information efficiently. Despite the IPO department being dissolved before the website could go live, the project paved the way for the successful development of KAUST's Admissions and Student Recruitment website.

Spinbox, a seasoned software development agency with extensive expertise in Sitefinity CMS, proposed a comprehensive solution to meet KAUST's needs. Key aspects of the solution included:

  • Sitefinity CMS Expertise: leveraging Spinbox's 12 years of experience with Sitefinity to deliver a robust and flexible CMS platform.
  • Advanced CMS Features: implementing automated workflows, content personalisation, and multi-site management capabilities.
  • Seamless Integration: ensuring compatibility with CRM systems, supporting responsive design, and integrating with mobile apps.
  • Customisation and Flexibility: offering real-time design changes, drag-and-drop functionality, and multilingual support.
  • Marketing and Analytics Tools: integrating tracking tools, SEO management, and social media content sharing to enhance site performance.

The technical execution plan involved a combination of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) framework and Dynamic Systems Development Method (DSDM), managed using Agile methodology. Spinbox utilised tools like ActiveCollab and Azure DevOps for project management and collaboration, ensuring efficient communication and execution.

Although the IPO website did not go live due to the dissolution of the department, the project's success was evident in several ways:
